I've been working to be more loving and peacefuld with others (people, enviroment) but it's being so difficult to be nice to me, we haven't been educated for that!!. Thanks to you Katie and to Adriene for sharing your love with us and remind us to be more gentle with ourselves, it's worth it and it helps a lot. A big hug from Madrid, Spain.

I’ve been recently trying to do better self talk. And also, just the other day I found a large ant in my home and I killed it and immediately wished I’d put it outside…then a couple days later I read this!
It’s fun how the universe works!

A young friend of ours in Canada, Erin Fleming, just published a book: Finding Ahimsa: A Memoir About Developing Compassion And A Heart So Open We Have No Enemies. I have just finished reading her book. An inspirational story of her journey to find Ahimsa. The book is available on Amazon. Here's a short excerpt from that website to give you some idea of her true story: Erin began her own research and discovered a group of individuals who referred to themselves as “COVID Longhaulers”. Continuing to reach out to medical professionals, in the midst of growing social tension and community division, Erin’s symptoms progressively worsened. Months later, she was diagnosed with a potentially fatal, rare, autoimmune disease.

This is the true story of Erin’s will to live during a time when dependence on her community was both crucial and unreliable.

I've been a vegetarian for 10 years and being kind to all creatures, no matter how small, is a huge way I include kindness and non-violence into my life. Great reminders about ways to be kind to yourself, your body, your mind and others. Thank you!

Meanwhile, always letting the guy who needs to move into my lane in traffic comes pretty naturally at this point in my practice. So does saying hello to that homeless person asking for money - I see you - whether I have money to give, or not. But generosity toward my body? Ugh! 60-something years of learned self loathing is a mountain! But I’m working on it 🙂

I do believe living in alignment with non-harming, especially with what I'm eating, is a profound way to incorporate the energy of peace into my body and into my life.

If you think about the energetics of food and food production in America, there is an over abundance of violence to the animals, and environmental harm to the earth (learn about factory farms). When we eat an animal raised for food, we are ingesting the pain, fear and suffering of that animal. How does that affect us on an energetic level? I love that this is a conscious, practical choice I can (try to) make several times each day, which helps me remember to apply ahimsa in lots of other ways too. Thanks for spreading the deeper teachings of Yoga!
